Evernote - an extension of my brain

I just installed Evernote on my laptop, work computer, and iPhone today. I have to say I am fairly impressed at what this app has to offer. Clickapoo!image

Evernote is like Delicious but for everything else. It allows you to save notes on their website, which serves as the "cloud", syncing the information between any number of devices that are supported. PCs, Macs, iPhone all have a version of their application (although the iPhone version is limited in regards to note editing). From what I can tell so far this works amazingly well. You can post audio, text, urls, pictures (more on that later), and even full websites with their Web Clipper that allows you to save part of a site urls, images, source and all, or the entire site. I haven't used this functionality personally but is seems pretty awesome.

What impressed me the most however is Evernote's ability to post images. This might not astound you but if you post an image with text, like a business card or restaurant menu; Evernote, using some kind of server side OCR (optical character recognition) indexes that images text for later search. From the test I've tried so far, this is pretty sick and useful. It handle handwriting as well, and I'm talking chicken scratch. I'll come back with updates on my usage of Evernote, but if you are anything like me and need some where on the internets to keep your nick nacks you'll want to give Evernote a try.

This guy is so nasty at Flash and AS3.  I came across these slides over at Lee Brimlow’s Blog.  I didn’t even finish going through all 150 of them but there were plenty of best practices I came away with.  I’ll finish the set tomorrow.
